COJO
making a difference to US
NEW YORK:
Children of Jamaica Outreach (COJO), is a non-profit organisation
whose mission is to help improve the health, education and general
well-being of under served children in the United States and Jamaica.
According to founder Gary Williams, 'Believe that you can make a difference
and you will'. Since its inception over a decade ago COJO has contributed
over US$50, 000 to Glenhope Place of Safety, US$10,000 to Musgrave
Girls Home and US$7,500 to Marigold Child Care Center. Other contribution
was made to Alpha Boy's Home, Leaf of Life, NY and Jamaica Queens
YMCA.
Guest of honour
at the 11th annual benefit event held last Saturday at the LaGuardia
Crowne Plaza hotel was Manhattan Borough President, C. Virginia Fields
who stressed the importance of taking care of our children as they
are our future. Representing the Prime Minister of Jamaica was Senator
Delano Franklyn, Minister of Foreign Affairs.
