JetBlue Airways,
which is expanding its routes in the Caribbean, is pitching in to
help the Children of Jamaica Outreach (COJO) organization through
a philanthropic partnership.
Through the partnership,
JetBlue, a longtime backer of COJO, will increase it support of the
organization's efforts to aid the health, education and well being
of underprivileged children.
"JetBlue
has been a supporter of COJO for almost a decade and there is no question
about the importance of securing a brighter future for our children,"
said Icema Gibbs, director corporate social responsibility for JetBlue
Airways. COJO founder and chairman Gary Williams said JetBlue will
be contributing to COJO's annual Scholarship Gala on Dec. 5 at the
Crowne Plaza LaGuardia Hotel in Queens. Sandals Resorts owner Gordon
(Butch) Stewart will be honored at the event.
Gala patrons will
have a chance to win tickets to any destination JetBlue serves, including
Jamaica. JetBlue began flights to Kingston last week and the airline
is started service to Montego Bay in May.
