Air
Jamaica Maintains Community Involvement With COJO
Kingston, Jamaica
(December 12 2008): The students of Windward Road Primary and Junior
High School received some well needed support recently when Air Jamaica
and Children of Jamaica Outreach (COJO), a New York based Jamaican
charity, presented five computers to the school. COJO also presented
scholarships to Brittney Housen and Jason Dawson, past students of
the school, who were top achievers in this years GSAT examinations.
The work that we do is made so much easier with Air Jamaicas
support, said Gary Williams Founder and Chairman, COJO. For
more than 12 years the partnership between our organization and the
airline has made it possible for us to touch the lives of hundreds
of children across Jamaica, Williams added. Now in its 14th
year, COJO has dedicated its resources, human and financial, to help
make a difference in the lives of underserved children in Jamaica
as well as the United States of America.
Despite the many challenges being faced, Air Jamaica still believes
that giving back is a responsibility that we must maintain. The airline
adopted the Windward Road Primary and Junior School in 1996 and have
since played an integral part in the activities of the school, something
which we will continue to do in the future, said William Rodgers,
Senior Director, Government and Community Affairs.
